A community resilience resource created by children, for children.
Join us at The Lighthouse Toowoomba as we celebrate the launch of After the Storm, a special colouring-in and disaster preparedness book featuring artwork created by children from schools across the Toowoomba Region.
Inspired by our community's experiences of natural disasters, including Tropical Cyclone Alfred, this heartwarming project brings together creativity, connection and practical preparedness.
Through their drawings of what 'home' means to them, local children have helped create a meaningful resource designed to support families, spark important conversations, build resilience and help our community feel safer and better prepared for the future.
We are delighted to welcome Toowoomba Region Mayor Geoff McDonald, who will officially open the event.
Join us as we celebrate our young artists, their creativity and the power of community coming together, before and after the storm.
After the Storm is an initiative of The Lighthouse Toowoomba, delivered in partnership with Toowoomba Regional Council. Assistance provided by the Australian and Queensland governments through the jointly funded Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
