La De Da (Garden) Rooms celebrates Toowoomba’s Carnival of Flowers through a significant new body of work by Lee FullARTon and Megan Gaynor. the exhibition transforms The Write Gallery into immersive rooms inspired by Australian places including Broken Hill, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs and the West Coast of Tasmania. Visitors are invited to “read the room”, interpreting place through art, furniture, objects, print and literature.
Children will create flowers for the installation, co-exhibit with professional artists, and see selected works travel to Belgium for an international exhibition. The workshops were supported by local artist Chelsea Baker, and along with hundreds of children, remain inspired by The Gardens of Alkinoos in Homer’s Odyssey.

Adult's workshops
Participants will arrange their own floral bouquets using a handmade ceramic Queenie MegLee flower frog and local festival flowers. The arranged still life will then serve as the inspiration for a watercolour study
