The Lighthouse Letter Club, in partnership with People First Bank, is a pen pal program between teenagers and people in aged care. Participants will write a letter to their buddy, having hand-crafted stationary to send.
The initiative aims to start conversations between the generations that have taken the hardest hit in the loneliness epidemic, in the wake of COVID-19 (AIHM, 2026).
It also encourages the lost art of penmanship, which has been linked to improving cognitive function, communication skills and memory retention (NLM, 2025).
So come along, make new friends,
learn new craft and help revive an old skill!
